One more tip: be as flexible as you can, so that you may accomodate weather changes. Your golfing days are long: in early June it starts to get light around 5 am and gets dark around 10 pm. Try the Chamber of Commerces for Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Bigfork, they will be able to give you full info. Eagle Bend in Bigfork is one of the best, but there are many others. There are golf courses everywhere! Each town has at least one. You may want to do that based on the weather. You should be able to make your reservations once you get here, since you are not coming at the time of big crowds. The fishermen who work there will have the latest scoop on what's biting where, what bait to use, etc.įor white water rafting (the river will look like chocolate milk at that time of year) look into either of these reputable, reliable companies: Glacier Raft Company or Montana Raft Company. Either store is on your way to GNP, depending on the route you chose. My husband is an avid fisherman any recommendations on Flathead lake or rivers in the area? He likes to golf too, what is the nicest golf course in the area?Īny other suggestion are welcome, I have never been to Montana so all input is much appreciated.įor the best fishing advice, go to either of these stores: The Sportsman Ski Haus, located on Hwy 93 just north of Kalispell, or Snappy Sports Senter at the intersection of Hwy 2 and 35 on the east side of Kalispell. We are considering river rafting, any recommendations? I understand it’s a good time of year for that. A ten mile hike round trip would be my limit, preferably a bit shorter. We are staying on the north end of Flathead lake, I realize it will be about an hour to drive to the park, but we are prepared for that and plan to spend three days in the park throughout the trip.įirst, I really wanted to hike to Iceberg Lake, is it this even possible in June or will there be too much snow still? Also, what alternative hikes would be good for this time of year. In reading the forum, I understand June is not ideal for visiting GNP but that is when we can travel and we are really excited. My husband and I will be flying into Kalispell, MT June7th and we depart June 14th.
